School of Art + Design Student Participates in Autodesk Student Expert Program http://www.njit.edu/news/2010/2010-294.php http://www.njit.edu/news/2010/2010-294.phpFri, 27 Aug 2010 00:00:00 -0400 Interior design student Anita Graham of Mullica Hill was selected to participate in the Autodesk Student Expert Program and attended the Revit Bootcamp in San Francisco August 9-13. Twenty-two students in a variety of disciplines from schools that included NJIT, Carnegie Mellon University, University of California at Berkeley, Georgia Tech, University of Southern California, Penn State, Purdue, and Virginia Tech gathered to train with solution specialists to learn Revit and Ecotect or Autodesk Inventor so that they can, in turn, help students at their own schools. For Ms.Graham, this was the second consecutive year she received a scholarship to participate and, for the second consecutive year, was the only interior design student selected.

NJIT Honorary Degree Recipient Named New CEO of Yahoo http://www.njit.edu/news/2009/2009-008.php http://www.njit.edu/news/2009/2009-008.phpTue, 13 Jan 2009 00:00:00 -0500 Carol Bartz, who was awarded an honorary degree by NJIT in January of 2002, will be named the new CEO of Yahoo, the Wall Street Journal is reporting. Bartz will replace the controversial CEO Jerry Yang. She is now executive chair of Autodesk. During her tenure with Autodesk, the company diversified its product line and grew revenues from $285 million to $1.523 billion in 2006.

NJIT began using Revit Architecture software several years ago in various upper-level studios and is now in the process of integrating building information modeling (BIM) throughout its curriculum.

Revit BIM Experience Award for its commitment to teaching an entirely digital approach to architecture. The Revit BIM Experience Award honors organizations, including commercial architecture, engineering and construction firms, educational institutions, and individuals for their innovation and excellence in implementing the Revit platform for building information modeling (BIM). NJIT uses Revit Architecture to demonstrate the relationship between design and building to its students and leverages technology in the service of design to create better architects and architecture.

NJIT Students Win 2004 Autodesk Innovation Awards for Second Consecutive Year http://www.njit.edu/news/2005/2005-021.php http://www.njit.edu/news/2005/2005-021.phpWed, 19 Jan 2005 00:00:00 -0500 Students from the New Jersey School of Architecture won both first place and honorable mention in the student section of the building division of the 2004 Autodesk Innovation Awards competition. First-place award went to fifth-year undergraduate student Elliot Glassman for his proposed River Vale Public Safety Complex (at left) created in the design studio of Professor Glenn Goldman. Graduate student Hector Camps won honorable mention for his project, a proposed addition to the Uffizi Gallery created in the design studio of Professor M. Stephen Zdepski.
