Stephen Cordes, of Westfield, has been named to the NJIT Board of Trustees.  Cordes is an equity partner and managing director of Clarion Partners, a leading investment advisory firm headquartered in New York City specializing in real estate with $23 billion in assets under management.  He is a member of the firm’s board of directors, management executive board and investment committee.  He serves as chief operating officer of the company and is the head of its portfolio management activities.  Cordes is portfolio manager and chairman of the board of a $2.5 billion investment fund created through the 2005 privatization of a publicly-traded real estate investment trust specializing in multifamily property ownership and development.

The university will apply to the Secretary of Higher Education for $152 million from the Building Our Future Bond Act, state revolving funds and other sources to support the projects.

The cruise was a silent auction offering at NJIT's Celebration 2007. In addition to the Rinaldis’ generosity, the NJIT Board of Overseers and NJIT Board of Trustees members who signed on for the cruise donated more than $10,800 to NJIT. As per Phil’s request, this amount will be equally divided in support of scholarships at the New Jersey School of Architecture, Newark College of Engineering, and the College of Science and Liberal Arts.

Wielkopolski is executive vice president and chief financial strategy officer of the Gale Company, Florham Park. Serving as co-vice chair will be attorney James M. Burns, Middletown.  Burns, a specialist in management labor law, is a founding partner of the Livingston law firm, Genova, Burns & Vernoia.  Serving as the other co-vice chair of the board will be Stephen DePalma, chief executive officer and chairman of Schoor DePalma Inc, Manalapan, and an alumnus of NJIT.  Attending his first meeting this November as a member of the Board was civil engineer David J. Samuel, Sayreville, an NJIT alumnus and a managing partner in the engineering firm CME Associates, Parlin, who joined the board Oct. 25, 2004.

In-state undergraduate students will pay $3,666 per semester, or an increase of 8.5 percent. In-state, full-time graduate students will pay a $495 per semester tuition increase of 8.5 percent. That amount will total $4,810 per semester.
