Verkhovsky, PhD, professor of computer science at NJIT and an expert in the art of deciphering messages in a code.More attention has been paid since 9/11 to this once obscure field since news stories have reported that terrorists communicate with each other through encoded computer messages.

Verkhovsky, professor of the computer science department at NJIT, was elected as a Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences (EAS). Dr. Verkhovsky is a vice president of the EAS and is a member of the Board of EAS Governors. Among its 650 members and fellows, the EAS has 43 Nobel Prize laureates, 29 Fields medalists and Turing Award and Wolf Prize winners combined; more than 70 members of the U.S. Academy of Sciences; 190 members of the French and Russian National Academy of Sciences and Fellows of the U.K. Royal Society combined; and many other dignitaries.
