Until now, doing such separations with membrane filtration was impossible. "To separate the good from the bad proteins is an important engineering breakthrough," said Kamalesh K. Sirkar, PhD, distinguished professor of chemical engineering and the project's lead researcher. "We believe that pharmaceutical companies will immediately be able to put our research to work."

Lisa Kardos, Cranford Resident, to Graduate from NJIT with Myriad Awards http://www.njit.edu/news/2004/2004-065.php http://www.njit.edu/news/2004/2004-065.phpFri, 21 May 2004 00:00:00 -0400 Lisa Kardos, a senior majoring in chemical engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), will graduate on May 26, with a myriad of awards and accolades.   Kardos, of Cranford, an Albert Dorman Honor’s College student with a grade point average of 3.7 in chemical engineering, was recently named the Newark College of Engineering’s outstanding female engineer.  She is president of the Dorman Honor’s College student council, and treasurer of Omega Chi Epsilon - the chemical engineering honor society.  She is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the Society of Women Engineers and Tau Beta Pi, an engineering honor society. She was the student speaker at the 2002 NJIT Celebration Scholarship fundraising event and assisted in recruiting women students to NJIT. She served on a strategic-planning taskforce at NJIT.
