“No FEAR: A Whistleblower’s Triumph” is the title of a lecture by the founder of the No FEAR Coalition Marsha Coleman-Adebayo set for Feb. 20, 2013 in the NJIT Campus Center Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public. Street parking is available. Coleman-Adebayo is the Director of the National Whistleblowers Center.

NJIT Civil Engineer Receives NSF Grant To Study Storm's Impact on Jersey Shore

A few days after Hurricane Sandy hit, NJIT Professor Michel Boufadel was awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to study the impact of the storm on the New Jersey shoreline. The NSF Rapid Response Research Grant immediately allowed him to take a team of eight researchers to the beaches of Raritan Bay.

NJIT Student Team Travels to Washington to Compete in Environmental Contest

A team of student engineers from NJIT has traveled to Washington, D.C., to compete in a national research and design contest sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The five-student team was chosen by the EPA as one of 65 finalists to compete in the People, Prosperity and Planet contest, scheduled for May 16-17 on the National Mall, on the basis of an EPA-funded research project about how to improve electronic equipment recycling in America.

NJIT Hosts NJ Youth Corps Brownfields Job Training Program Kick-Off

Earlier this week, the New Jersey Youth Corps (NJYC) Brownfields Job Training Program hosted a kick-off event at NJIT. Funded by a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the program prepares unemployed or underemployed young adults for careers as technicians in a diverse educational environment that touches on all aspects of environmental remediation. The health and safety component of the curriculum will be taught at NJIT through the New Jersey Youth Corps of Phillipsburg in keeping with the university's ongoing mission to foster economic development at all levels throughout the state.
