DOE Awards NJIT $468,495 Grant To Create Courses To Train Energy Auditors http://www.njit.edu/news/2010/2010-249.php http://www.njit.edu/news/2010/2010-249.phpMon, 12 Jul 2010 00:00:00 -0400 The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded NJIT $468,495 to create a comprehensive series of four courses to train and teach mechanical engineers in the New York Metropolitan Region how to improve the energy efficiency of existing buildings.  The NJIT Center for Building Knowledge, which thanks to its involvement with regional utilities and other state agencies has had much experience doing this kind of work, will organize and run the training sessions. Center Executive Director Deane M. Evans will be the project director.

The grant aims to increase outreach and opportunities for higher education access. The program assists needy New Jersey families at the start of the financial aid process, by among other things, most importantly helping them complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The business plan competition is part of the North Jersey Partners WIRED (Workforce Innovation for Regional Economic Development) grant.
