NJIT Physics Students Receive Kudos for Poster Presentation on Nano-Chessboards http://www.njit.edu/news/2008/2008-281.php http://www.njit.edu/news/2008/2008-281.phpMon, 28 Jul 2008 00:00:00 -0400 NJIT students Sean O'Malley and Peter Bonanno received “The Best Scientific Achievement Prize” last month at the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS) Users' Meeting for their presentation  “Jahn and Teller Play with Nano-Chessboards at CHESS.”  The poster explained how a ZnMnGaO4 film consisting of a checkerboard of nanorods of two different spinel phases could be self-assembled, analyzed, and understood in terms of the packing between matching surfaces of the different domains.
