NJIT NEXT Raises $100 Million

NJIT NEXT, NJIT’s comprehensive campaign, has secured more than $100 million towards its $150 million goal, announced national campaign co-chairs Chief Operating Officer of Clarion Partners C. Stephen Cordes; Hatch Mott MacDonald President and CEO Nicholas M. DeNichilo; Chairman/CEO Anchor Industries International and Chairman Emeritus/Founder Tampa Bay Rays Vincent Naimoli. All three chairs are NJIT alumni.

Honors College Library Named To Honor Gilbert W. Glass '41

Three Students Awarded ASME Clarke Scholarships

Kyle Devitt, Andre Moses and Hagop Bouchakjiane (shown here with NJIT Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Special Lecturer Harry Kountouras and Professor Bernard Koplik) have been awarded 2010 American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Clarke Scholarships. NJIT has won the award five times in the last six years. The scholarship is awarded nationally based on a competitive proposal; six are awarded at $6,000 per winning university.

Joel Bloom, vice president for academic and student services and dean, Albert Dorman Honors College, Charles R. Dees, Jr., vice president for university advancement, and Dick Sweeney '82, co-inventor of the Keurig single-cup coffee machine, recently participated in a coffee “cupping" session at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters in Waterbury, Vermont. Green Mountain and its partner Simatelex, in China, the manufacturer of the Keurig single-cup coffee maker, have endowed a $100,000 scholarship at NJIT.

Murray Center Event Raises Money for Women's Scholarships

NJIT women faculty, staff and administrators raised more than $800 for women's scholarships yesterday at the annual Women's Networking Luncheon in the Campus Center Ballroom. The luncheon was co-hosted by the Murray Center for Women in Technology, the ACE-Network and the Committee on Women's Issues. At left are the winners of the 10 gift baskets that were raffled off at the event.
