"Automated Discovery of Emerging Online Communities and Research Networks: New Tools and Techniques from Academia and Industry" will feature presentations by Anatoliy Gruzd, PhD (pictured), assistant professor in the School of Information Management at Dalhousie University; and Sheldon Sloan, MD, MBE, vice president of policy, Johnson & Johnson Corporate Office of Science and Technology. Lunch will be provided.

Shih offers a comprehensive overview of morphological mechanisms and techniques and their relation to image processing. More than merely a tutorial on vital technical information, the book places this knowledge into a theoretical framework. Morphology is the identification, analysis and description of  the structure of words.
