NJIT Architecture Alumna Participates in Newark Design Contest

Alexis Goldman, a project manager at Solutions Architecture in Newark and a 2002 graduate of NJIT's College of Architecture and Design, built a "Jumbotron" made entirely from unopened cans of food in an eight-hour Build Day as part of the CANstruction design competition. At the close of the exhibitions, the cans were donated to local food banks.

Honors College Students Demonstrate “Can-Do” Spirit To Fight Hunger

Six students enrolled in NJIT's Albert Dorman Honors College won the Best Meal Award for their project titled “A Bea-CAN of Hope” in the Canstruction® competition. Created by the Society for Design Administration, the competition invited participants to design giant sculptures made entirely from unopened cans of food. At the close of the exhibitions the cans were donated to local food banks. >>
