The NJIT community's efforts to help the victims of Haiti have earned second place in the UNICEF/ACUI Campus Challenge. NJIT raised $9,281.56 by April 1. The 300-plus schools that participated in the Campus Challenge raised over $230,000 which will be matched by the George Harrison Fund. "This just confirms what we already know--that NJIT is truly a giving community that comes together to help those in need," said Campus Center Director Donna Minnich Spuhler. "Special thanks to all of the individuals who donated and raised funds, and to these groups who raised funds by hosting events: the NJIT Hockey Team for raising over $3,000 in their Hockey for Haiti Winter Classic game vs. Seton Hall; Engineers Without Borders; Phi Beta Sigma; OXFAM; HASAN; ASCE; Athletics, the Campus Center, Career Development Services; the cast of the Faculty, Staff and Student Variety Show, which raised $250; Gourmet Dining Services for their $1,000 contribution, and the Residence Hall Association." >>

In an effort to leverage resources and create ongoing communication channels, the IEEE North Jersey Section and NJIT’s Division of Career Development Services (CDS) have entered into an alliance that stands to greatly benefit both organizations. “It is our objective to distribute information about various career development programs, services, and events that we think will be of interest and value to the IEEE members and their employing companies,” says Gregory Mass, executive director of the Career Development Center. >>
