Brian Novello, of Rockaway Township,  a graduating fifth year student in the NJIT Bachelor of Architecture Degree Program, has received the third place bronze medal from NJIT for his inventive design to create docking stations in rivers to harness clean energy.  The honor was awarded at the NJIT Dana Knox Provost Research Day competition on April 14, 2010.  >>
Xiangxin Meng, of Edison, a doctoral student studying chemistry with chemistry professor Somenath Mitra at NJIT, received on April 14, 2010, the second-place bronze medal for her graduate entry “Polymer Films Containing Microparticles of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients for Oral Drug Delivery” at the NJIT Dana Knox Student Research Day Showcase.  >>

Cuadra, of West New York, an undergraduate student at NJIT, received the first prize gold medal for his undergraduate project, “Destabilization of Pickering Emulsions Using Vibrations.”  The award was presented at the annual NJIT Dana Knox Student Research Showcase at NJIT on April 14, 2010.  >>
Graduating senior Tin Vo, of Jersey City, received the second-place silver undergraduate medal for his project, “Altering Substrate Specificity of a-Ketoglutarate Dehydrogenase for Chemical Synthesis,” from the NJIT Dana Knox Student Research Showcase competition on April 14, 2010. Yasmine Aly, of Bloomfield,  a doctoral candidate studying chemical engineering at NJIT received on April 14, 2010, the first-place gold medal for her graduate research project, “Aluminum-based Reactive Composite Powders” at the NJIT Dana Knox Student Research Showcase on April 14, 2010.  >>
Kenneth Gethard, of Fairfield, a doctoral student in environmental science at NJIT, received the second-prize silver medal for his graduate project “Desalinations Using Carbon Nanotube Enhanced Membrane Distillation.” His advisor was Somenath Mitra. The award was presented at the annual NJIT Dana Knox Student Research Showcase held April 14, 2010.  >>

Senior architecture students Robert Pietrocola and Joseph DiNapoli presented their research project entitled "Newark Bus Rapid Transit" today at The Dana Knox Student Research Showcase in the Campus Center Gallery. Previously known as the Provost's Student Research Showcase, the event was renamed this year to honor the legacy of the late Dana E. Knox, PhD, professor of chemical engineering and associate provost at NJIT. >>
