Each year, NJIT honors students who have worked to enhance campus life. This year, 11 students received 2014 Highlander Student Achievement Awards, which recognized their leadership roles on campus. >>

NJIT's first Renaissance Faire, held on campus on April 19, was a festive event featuring performers that entertained crowds with live jousting, fortune telling, tarot card reading and belly dancing.  >>

An estimated 3,000 students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families participated in NJIT Day 2008, the university's annual fall festival, on October 11. Highlights of this year's event, which recorded the largest attendance in its five-year history, included carnival rides and game booths, The Young Alumni Club Chili Cook-off, women's soccer, Highlander Games, and computer game expo. "It was, by far, the largest event we have held on campus excepting commencement," said NJIT Dean of Students Jack Gentul. "So many people worked so hard to make the event a success—their efforts and the outcome has made us all proud to be a part of this community." >>

To insure safer trips for students on spring break and peace of mind for their parents, Donna Minnich Spuhler, assistant dean of students, with the assistance of NJIT's Public Safety Department, have put together a list of dos and don'ts for young travelers. “Common sense can prevent many a mishap or crime,” Spuhler said. >>
