NJIT's Mengchu Zhou Proposes Using Petri Nets as a Solution to Automation Problems in Manufacturing in Upcoming IEEE Journal

An expert in robotics and automation problems, especially those involving manufacturing systems, NJIT Distinguished Professor and IEEE Fellow Mengchu Zhou will have two articles published in the upcoming proceedings of the 2013 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation. Both papers were recently presented at this conference.

NJIT Student Meets Former Secretary of State Kissinger at Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference

An essay by Satyaki Sen, a student majoring in electrical engineering at NJIT, was critiqued by former Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger at the 47th Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference (NAFAC). Hosted by the United States Naval Academy, NAFAC brings together an outstanding group of undergraduates to debate major issues of American foreign policy. Sen participated as a Metro International delegate at the conference, at which Kissinger delivered the keynote speech. >>
NJIT Electrical Engineering Student Named Goldwater Scholar

An electrical and computer engineering sophomore at NJIT was named a Goldwater scholar earlier this week by the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program. Mohammad Farhan Haider Naqvi received the honor based upon his analysis of energy emitted from the Sun, since 1996. >>
When he was 12, Carl Robinson faced a family trauma that was shocking in its brutality. But Robinson never lapsed into despair. He instead managed to use the life-altering events to motivate himself academically and altruistically. On May 18 he will graduate from NJIT with a degree in electrical engineering. >>
KUDOS-Rockland Receives Frederick J. Berger Award

Dr. Ronald H. Rockland, associate professor of Electrical Engineering Technology and associate dean of the Newark College of Engineering, received the 2004 American Society for Engineering Education Frederick J. Berger Award at an awards banquet in Salt Lake City, Utah. The award recognizes and encourages programmatic and individual excellence in engineering technology education.
