Gale Tenen Spak, PhD, associate vice president of NJIT's Division of Continuing and Distance Education, served as a panelist at the 122nd Annual Meeting of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) on Nov. 15 in Washington, DC. "Testing the APLU Institutional Assessement Tool To Enhance Regional Innovation and Prosperity: Three Case Studies from NJIT, Virginia Tech and the University of Missouri" was the topic.

NJIT will break new ground this summer with a new and affordable graduate online tuition rate for out-of-state students. “The new tuition will make it possible for students anywhere in or outside the U.S. to study full or part-time at NJIT,” said Gale Tenen Spak, associate vice president of the Division of Continuing Professional Education.

Members of the northern New Jersey business, nonprofit and academic communities joined Jeanne C. Meister, founder of the New Learning Playbook blog, to discuss the training and development challenges that employers face in dealing with the new generation of workers on Dec. 11 at NJIT. Meister, an internationally recognized consultant in designing and implementing learning organizations for Fortune 1,000 firms, will be leading this project with Gale Tenen Spak, Associate Vice President, Continuing and Distance Education at NJIT. The group of human resources professionals was convened as part of the North Jersey Partners Life Long Learning Initiative with the goal of transitioning the northern New Jersey area into a continual learning region through training and workforce development. There’s still time to sign up for classes at NJIT for “EmployME!.”  The public-private partnership to prepare adults with physical disabilities for entry-level and advanced jobs in information technology features a new, 18-week session beginning next month.
