The New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology has awarded almost $100,000 as part of its SBIR bridge grant program to two start-up companies based in NJIT’s high technology business incubator.

Morristown received honorable mention in the 2008
Millennium School International Design Competition based in the Philippines. The team placed fourth among the top seven winners in the competition, which attracted 120 entries from designers worldwide. At left: Brian D.B. Novello, a third-year student at the New Jersey School of Architecture who has interned as an architectural designer at the company’s Morristown office since 2005; Muhammad H. Hussain ’02 LEED AP, an architectural designer based in the Houston office; and team leader Benjamin P. Bakas ‘03, LEED AP, an architectural designer in Morristown.
NJIT postdoctoral students and companies in the Enterprise Development Center (EDC), NJIT’s high technology business incubator, were awarded eight grants totaling $480,000 from the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology to bolster company growth and jumpstart the careers of young scientists.

Verizon Communications Inc. was named outstanding corporate partner last month at NJIT’s Celebration 2007 at the Somerset Palace. Dennis Bone, Verizon New Jersey President, accepted the honor on behalf of the company.

James E. Gunn, PhD, the Eugene Higgins Professor of Astronomy at Princeton University, will discuss "Cosmology: A Fifty-Year Perspective," on Dec. 15 at 9 p.m. in the Guttenberg Information Technologies Center, Rm. 3720/3730 at NJIT. The talk will follow the Amateur Astronomers, Inc. club membership meeting at 8 p.m.
Supertron Technologies Inc., a leading developer of next-generation solutions for high-performance preclinical and clinical Magnetic Resonance Imaging coils and probes, announced today successfully financing $3.5 million with Amphion Innovations PLC. Supertron is based in the Enterprise Development Center at NJIT.
