History Professor Receives NASA Research GrantNeil Maher, associate professor in the federated department of history at NJIT, has been awarded a $45,000, three-year research grant from the NASA History Division and NASA's Science Mission Directorate, in the area of History of the Scientific Exploration of Earth and Space (HSEES).  The grant will support research on his next book, tentatively titled Ground Control: An Environmental History of NASA and the Space Race. >>

Cohen Receives AT&T Faculty Fellowship AwardMaurie Cohen, PhD, an assistant professor in the department of chemistry and environmental science, received an Industrial Ecology Faculty Fellowship award from the AT&T Foundation.  NJIT's Communications Group Receives Awards for Exemplary WorkThe online Newsroom sponsored by NJIT, which is available for both public and internal viewing, has won an Apex Award from Communications Inc. of Virginia, and a gold award from MarCom Creative Awards, of Texas. The university's 2003-2004 annual report received a commendation for non-traditional design from the International ARC Awards.  >>

NJIT Professor Elected Deputy Mayor of Freehold TownshipEugene B. Golub, PhD, a professor of civil engineering at NJIT, was elected deputy mayor of Freehold Township. Golub has been on the governing body since 1996 and served as deputy mayor in 1998, 1999 and 2001. He was mayor in 2002. Read more.Goode Elected Fellow of the American Physical SocietyPhilip R. Goode, PhD, distinguished professor in the physics department at NJIT and director of the Big Bear Solar Observatory and Center for Solar-Terrestrial Research, was elected as a Fellow of the American Physical Society for outstanding research in studies of solar structure and oscillations, in earthshine measurements of the global reflectance, and for critical national and international research leadership in solar astrophysics.Bloom Appointed Chair of NASULGC CouncilJoel S.
