NJIT’s defense held University at Albany scoreless in the second half over nine minutes en route to a 58-47 victory in women’s basketball action at the SEFCU Arena Tuesday night. The Highlanders recorded its second win of the season having two double-figure scorers on the night led by sophomore guard Jessica Gerald scoring a game-high 20 points—15 coming in the second half. 

Freshman guard Jessica Gerald has been named Division I Independent women's basketball Newcomer of the Year. Gerald, the six-time NCAA Division I Independent Newcomer of the Week recorded 65 out of a possible 70 points for all-Newcomer team selection.

Freshman Jessica Gerald led the way with a game-high 23 points, joining NJIT's other two starting guards to combine for 54 points in the Highlanders' 90-61 win over visiting Savannah State Saturday afternoon on women's basketball Alumnae Day in the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.

Freshman guard Jessica Gerald exploded for a school-record 37 points, pacing NJIT to a 76-61 neutral-site win over California State University, Bakersfield in women's basketball action on the campus of Texas-Pan American Friday night. Her 37-point outburst was the highest single-game total in the 21-season history of NJIT women's basketball.

NJIT freshman guard Jessica Gerald is the national NCAA Division I Independent women's basketball Newcomer of the Week. Gerald combined for 13 points while shooting 6-for-11 from the field in 22 minutes of action off the bench last week.
