Distinguished Professor Named Inventor of the YearYeheskel Bar-Ness, PhD, a distinguished professor at NJIT, was named an Inventor of the Year by the New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame. Bar-Ness was cited for his inventive research in the area of electrical and computer engineering at an awards luncheon at NJIT.NJIT Mathematician and Geometry Expert Lauded for WorkVladislav Goldberg, PhD, a distinguished professor in the department of mathematical sciences at NJIT and an expert in web geometry, was honored last month for a lifetime of scholarship. The International Geometry in Odessa Conference in Ukraine lauded the mathematician during a multi-day conference.     >>

Osseiran-Hanna Promoted to Assistant Vice President Khatmeh Osseiran-Hanna, Office of University Advancement, has been promoted to the position of Assistant Vice President/Senior Officer Major and Planned Giving. Previously she served as Director of Development. Professor Continues Tradition of Leadership in Architectural Design Computing Wassim Jabi, professor of architecture, has been elected president of the Association for Computer-Aided Design in Architecture (ACADIA), which is dedicated to promoting communication and critical thinking with respect to the use of computers in architecture, planning and building science. Tara J. Siegel, who received a master's degree in architecture from the New Jersey School of Architecture in May 2004, was recently awarded the Frederick P. Rose Architectural Fellowship by The Enterprise Foundation. For the next three years, she will work with the Pratt Institute Center for Community and Environmental Development on projects based in Brooklyn and Manhattan. >>
Dr. Donald Getzin of the Department of Chemistry and Environmental Science has been named Associate Professor Emeritus effective June 1, 2005. The designation is in recognition of his many years of service to NJIT and his continuing involvement with its students. >>
