NJIT senior catcher Phil Resciniti was recently named an all-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II baseball honoree. The all-ECAC team consists of just 12 players selected by a coaches' vote from the more than 40 Division II baseball-playing members of the ECAC. Resciniti hit .361 with 11 doubles, four homers, 28 runs and 33 RBI in leading the Highlanders to their first winning season since 1995. >>
Four members of the 2005 NJIT baseball team will participate in the annual New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association All-Star Game on Monday, May 30 at First Energy Park in Lakewood, home of the Class A Lakewood Blue Claws. Chris Legiadre, a junior pitcher for NJIT, was named New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA) Division II/III Co-Pitcher of the Week, the NJCBA announced today. It is the third NJCBA Pitcher of the Week award for Legiadre this season. Legiadre was honored following his complete-game victory over Caldwell in the CACC Tournament last Friday. >>
The NJIT baseball team clinched a spot in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament with a 6-4 victory over visiting University of the Sciences in Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon at Riverfront Stadium. With the win, the Highlanders completed a three-game weekend sweep of USP. The home game against Caldwell College that was rained out on March 24 will be made up on April 28 at 5:30 p.m. at Riverfront Stadium. >>
