Three life science inventions that may one day heal wounds faster, improve surgical outcomes and build stronger muscles took $10,500 in prize money for further research and development at NJIT’s recent TechQuest/Innovation Day. The inventions competed against 30 developed by undergraduate teams. >>

The Computer Science Research Committee at NJIT in conjunction with the Department of Information Systems is organizing a series of four talks titled "Funding Experiences in CCS" during the coming academic year. NJIT Professors Guiling (Grace) Wang, James Calvin and Michael Recce will share their experiences with obtaining funding on Nov. 19, 2:30-4 p.m. in the Guttenberg Information Technologies Center Rm. 3730. Donald Sebastian, PhD (at left), Senior Vice President for Research and Development at NJIT, will provide opening remarks. >>

Co-sponsored by the NJIT/Rutgers Federated Department of History and the Rutgers/NJIT History Club, Wailoo's lecture explored the relationship of disease and the biomedical sciences in 20th-century American culture to questions of race, health politics, and group identity. Women's Tennis Team Nearly Sweeps Pace in 8-1 Win

The NJIT women's tennis team, ranked ninth regionally, earned an 8-1 victory over visiting Pace University on Saturday night at the Tenafly Racquet Club. The top five singles players for NJIT (6-2) were all double winners: Fatima Kasem, Chiori Koike, Deepti Sanjai, Rebecca Solorzano and Grace Bogdan. >>
