Rockland, PhD, interim chair of the department of engineering technology and professor in the departments of engineering technology and biomedical engineering at NJIT, was recently elected as an Engineering Technology Council (ETC) Director by the engineering technology members of the American Society of Engineering Educators (ASEE). The ETC of ASEE is the national organization that speaks for engineering technology education and is committed to promoting quality education and creative endeavors in engineering technology.  >>

Professors at NJIT were awarded a $1.1 million, three-year grant from the National Science Foundation to change the way inner city students learn about science and technology. The money will allow engineering professors from NJIT's Newark College of Engineering and specialists from NJIT's Center for Pre-College Programs to help public school teachers in Newark, Orange, Perth Amboy and Union City build an exciting, sophisticated science and technology curriculum. >>

Biomedical engineering pioneer Ronald Rockland, PhD, associate dean and associate professor at NJIT, will receive an award from the New Jersey Association for Biomedical Research. The award is dedicated to improving human and animal health through biomedical research. Rockland will accept the honor at the organization's research gala on Nov. 17. >>
