Recipient of Anne Wiley Scholarship Announced

Electrical engineering student Madonnina Suresh of Roselle Park has been selected as the recipient of the 2012 Anne Wiley Scholarship. Suresh was nominated by ECE Undergraduate Advisor Shivon Boodhoo. >>
Shivon Boodhoo, undergraduate advisor in the department of electrical and computer engineering, and Sanchoy Das, PhD, professor in the department of mechanical and industrial engineering, presented their work at the 2011 Health Care Operations Research/Systems Engineering Symposium on August 10-12 at the Mayo Clinic.

At NJIT, Shivon Boodhoo of Maplewood, is well-known, well-liked and well-respected. She works in the electrical and computer engineering department as an undergraduate advisor and curriculum coordinator. Boodhoo, say colleagues, selflessly and effectively advises more than 250 freshmen and sophomores. She helps with schedules and academic progress – noting students’ strengths and helping them overcome their shortcomings.

Alumni from Albert Dorman Honors College at NJIT returned this past week to the university to talk to undergraduates about the skills they need to succeed professionally. The 14 alumni met with current Dorman Honors College students in roundtable discussions focused on careers, education and academic majors. The graduates also spoke about internships and research opportunities available at their companies. >>
