Congratulations to NJIT’s Steel Bridge Team, placing 12th overall at the National Steel Bridge Building Contest. This was the highest ranking ever by an NJIT team.

For the sixth straight year, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Steel Bridge team has taken first-place honors at the annual Metropolitan New York Region Steel Bridge Competition this past weekend.

NJIT Steel Bridge Team Participates in High School Science Festival

The NJIT Steel Bridge Team recently participated in the New Jersey Science and Engineering Festival at Clifton High School. "How to Engineer a Bridge" was the theme of their display, which featured designing a virtual bridge with software and then load testing it with an animated truck as well as a "Paper Bridge Challenge" where students created a bridge from one sheet of copy paper that had to support 100 pennies. >>
The NJIT ASCE Steel Bridge Team has once again proved their engineering prowess by winning the 2009 Metropolitan Region Steel Bridge Competition held on April 4 at Polytechnic University in Brooklyn. In addition to winning first place overall, the team placed first in Structural Efficiency and Stiffness. The team now advances to the 2009 Steel Bridge Nationals scheduled for the Memorial Day Weekend at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.
