Three NJIT student-athletes were recognized at the 2016 ASUN Conference Spring meetings Tuesday evening at The Shores Resort and Spa, as the three were named to the ASUN Winners for Life Teams, which includes student-athletes from the fall, winter and spring seasons.

The NJIT men's and women's outdoor track and field teams medaled in seven events at the 2016 Atlantic Sun Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by North Florida at Hodges Stadium.

Some 25 members of NJIT's men's track and field team will volunteer their brawn and brains tomorrow to tackle cleaning up the headquarters of IHS Development Corporation, Newark. Ravaged by hurricanes Sandy and Irene, the building remains in need of help and students' efforts. Volunteers will remove light debris, lift moderate boxes and materials and perform minor carpentry repairs. The students are part of a larger 600-body task force assembled during the past month by NJIT's College of Architecture and Design (COAD). Dubbed the “Alternative Spring Break,” the effort has targeted cleaning up facilities, residences and areas damaged by the super storm. Students from other colleges and universities are also participating.

Women's Track and Field Team Earns Academic Honors

The NJIT women's track and field team has been honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as an All-Academic team for the 2011 season.

Twenty-nine student-athletes in six sports were named to the Winter/Spring 2010-11 Great West Conference all-Academic team.
