Newark Light Rail Station Gets Facelift Thanks To NJIT Students

The Warren Street Newark City Light Rail Station is getting a facelift thanks to the efforts of two NJIT Student Senate presidents (one now an alum), who ceaselessly rallied students to champion and support a plan to beautify the station’s walls with custom contemporary murals depicting the university and city. >>
NJIT graduate architecture students are developing how to improve retail and residential areas near two rail stations on the NJ Transit Raritan Valley Line in Plainfield this semester. Both stations will experience increased usage with the completion of a second tunnel beneath the Hudson River, the Access to the Region’s Core project (ARC).
