Gale Tenen Spak, PhD, associate vice president of Continuing and Distance Education at NJIT, moderated a panel at the Association of Public Land-grant Universities' Joint Summer meeting of the Commission on Innovation, Competitiveness, and Economic Prosperity and Council on Engagement and Outreach at the Hyatt Regency in Austin, Texas. Spak moderated the session "Technology as a Tool for University Engagement and Outreach" on June 22, at which panelists discussed technology tools – from social networking to engagement web portals – that facilitate economic and community engagement. >>
Gale Tenen Spak, PhD, associate vice president of NJIT's Division of Continuing and Distance Education, served as a panelist at the 122nd Annual Meeting of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) on Nov. 15 in Washington, DC. "Testing the APLU Institutional Assessement Tool To Enhance Regional Innovation and Prosperity: Three Case Studies from NJIT, Virginia Tech and the University of Missouri" was the topic. >>

During the next decade, solar physicists will learn more than they have dreamed possible about the Sun, thanks to current technologies that have advanced the capacity of land-based instruments. Such advancements will be the focus of a talk on March 26, 2008 by noted NJIT solar astronomer Philip R. Goode, PhD.
