NJIT's Elisha Yegal Bar-Ness Center for Wireless Communications and Signal Processing Research recently showcased the research of eight doctoral students.  The students' work was featured in presentations and posters displayed in the area.  The annual event aims to give doctoral students and their professors from the center a chance to exchange information from a year's worth of work.  The Center is located in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NJIT's Newark College of Engineering.  >>

“HYMN to Improve the Longevity of Wireless Sensor Networks,” a paper co-authored by Nirwan Ansari, PhD, professor in NJIT's department of electrical and computer engineering, has been selected for an IEEE GLOBECOM 2010 Best Paper Award to be presented at the 2010 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM 2010) in Miami, Dec. 6-10, 2010. GLOBECOM 2010 received 4614 paper submissions and a total of 11 papers have been selected to receive the best paper awards.  >>
Yeheskel Bar-Ness, PhD, of Marlboro, Newark College of Engineering Distinguished Professor in the electrical and computer engineering department at NJIT was selected as one of two recipients of the Communication Theory Technical Committee Service Award for 2009. >>

Ying Wu, founder of UTStarcom, a highly successful telecommunications firm, and currently General Partner at CTC Capital, met on Tuesday with Stewart D. Personick (right), the Ying Wu Endowed Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Newark College of Engineering, and NJIT President Robert A. Altenkirch. The Ying Wu Endowed Chair is supported by a gift of $1.5 million from Mr. Wu, who earned a master's degree in electrical engineering at NCE in 1988. >>

The man who helped make wireless cell phones a must-have device for millions around the world recently received kudos and thanks from colleagues at the anniversary of the founding in 1986 of NJIT's Center for Wireless Communication and Signal Processing. The Center was the brainchild of visionary electrical engineer Yeheskel Bar-Ness, PhD, distinguished professor of electrical and computer engineering at NJIT. >>

Igor Stanojev, a PhD student in the department of electrical and computer engineering, discussed "Optimal Design of a Multi-Antenna Process Point with Decentralized Power Control Using Game Theory” today at NJIT. Stanojev was one of several doctoral students who presented their research on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of NJIT's Center for Wireless Communication & Signal Processing Research (CWCSPR). >>
