NJIT Professor Elected EAS Fellow
Boris S. Verkhovsky, professor of the computer science department at NJIT, was elected as a Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences (EAS). Dr. Verkhovsky is a vice president of the EAS and is a member of the Board of EAS Governors. Among its 650 members and fellows, the EAS has 43 Nobel Prize laureates, 29 Fields medalists and Turing Award and Wolf Prize winners combined; more than 70 members of the U.S. Academy of Sciences; 190 members of the French and Russian National Academy of Sciences and Fellows of the U.K. Royal Society combined; and many other dignitaries. Mendonca Receives NSF Career Award
David Mendonca, an assistant professor in the information systems department of the College of Computing Sciences, received a National Science Foundation Career Award.
NJIT Professor Elected IEEE Fellow
Dr. Yun-Qing Shi, a professor in the department of electrical and computer engineering, has been elected as a Fellow of the IEEE for his contributions to multidimensional signal processing.
