Jackson said that energy security and the “quiet crisis”—stemming from the gap between the nation's growing need for scientists, engineers, and other technically skilled workers and its production of them—are “inextricably linked” and, if permitted to continue unmitigated, could reverse the global leadership Americans currently enjoy. “We can no longer drill our way to energy security,” Jackson said. “We must innovate our way to energy security.” >>
