NJIT sustainability expert Deane Evans will provide an introduction to the basics of building green, high performance primary and secondary schools at a free seminar, open to the public, at NJIT. An estimated 3,000 students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families participated in NJIT Day 2008, the university's annual fall festival, on October 11. Highlights of this year's event, which recorded the largest attendance in its five-year history, included carnival rides and game booths, The Young Alumni Club Chili Cook-off, women's soccer, Highlander Games, and computer game expo. "It was, by far, the largest event we have held on campus excepting commencement," said NJIT Dean of Students Jack Gentul. "So many people worked so hard to make the event a success—their efforts and the outcome has made us all proud to be a part of this community." >>
