EOP (Educational Opportunity Program) Boot Camp will hold the closing ceremony for its summer academic enrichment program. Some 150 students spent the past five weeks in this academic "boot camp,” living on campus and attending a grueling schedule of classes from Monday to Thursday before heading home for the weekend. >>
NJIT will award Oscar Tapia, Clifton, a first-generation former Mexican immigrant, the university's highest honor for earning a perfect grade point average (GPA). During Chris Sakowski's first year at Marlboro High School, Marlboro, he signed up for an elective class in business management. But since he was the only student to register, the school cancelled the class and asked him to choose another. Electronics was his lucky pick. “I immediately fell in love with the class, the teacher, and the subject matter,” recalled Sakowski, now a senior. “And I've not lost an ounce of passion since then.” >>
