Newark Innovation Acceleration Challenge Finalists Present Projects; Four Winners Named

Six finalists in the Newark Innovation Acceleration Challenge presented their projects this week at NJIT’s Enterprise Development Center (EDC). In the end, Anson Wilson (Mave), Harsh Mehta (T-Shirt Tech), Mario Rannamae (Elect Charge); and Daniel Cerone (WordHerd) were awarded Capital One Summer Innovation Acceleration Fellowships of $2000 each to help support them during the summer so that they can spend time working in the New Jersey Innovation Acceleration Center Entrepreneurial Learning Lab at the EDC.

Doctoral Student Awarded Fellowship from National Institutes of Health

Ian Lafond, a second-year PhD student in NJIT's Department of Biomedical Engineering, has received a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award for Individual Predoctoral Fellowship from the National Institutes of Health. This $142,000 award will support Ian's dissertation research in the lab of Associate Professor Sergei Adamovich over the next four years.
