NJIT Community Mourns the Loss of Orlando Victims

NJIT mourns the loss of 49 individuals and the wounding of 53 others in Orlando on June 12, 2016. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims' families and friends and we stand in solidarity with the community who has been affected by this tragedy.

“I don't like the way Memorial Day is celebrated,” said NJIT graduate student Omar Gomez, who served in the Army for five years and in Afghanistan for 15 months. “It's too serious, too gray. My friend Donald T. Tabb who was killed was a funny guy—I want him to stand tall with his jokes. Nobody died so you could be boring.”
