Through a joint initiative of the National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Health, the Biomedical Engineering department at the New Jersey Institute of Technology has developed a BioMEMS Bioengineering Summer Institute.
This program is for both graduate and undergraduate students, and is intended to expose students not only to advanced engineering technology, but also to a broad spectrum of biomedical questions and medical problems. We will also provide a clear understanding of the core elements of bioengineering. All this will be achieved through coursework, hands-on research projects and off-site visits to leading research institutions. At the end of the summer, each student will be able to present and defend a research project that they have had an active part in creating.
