The university encourages appropriate use of its computer facilities by students in all aspects of their academic work.  Students are authorized to use the computing facilities by the issuance of an account consisting of a User ID and Password by the Computing Services Department.  Each such authorization is for an individual student to use a computer for course work or research projects.  A student involved in a number of activities requiring computer usage may have accounts on more than one computer system.  Each student is responsible for using his or her account(s) only for the specified usage for which it was authorized.  The use of computer account numbers for an unauthorized purpose or the use of an account by anyone other than the individual to whom it was issued constitutes an infraction of university regulations.  This violation may be referred to the Dean of Students for disciplinary action.
