General Information

Film/Videos

A license is required to show films or videos on campus. Licensing information can be obtained in the Campus Center Reservations Office, Room. 101.

Any film shown at NJIT must meet the qualification of having played in the commercial theaters in the metropolitan area.

Advertising for such films shall be restricted to the NJIT campus.

The educational and recreational purposes of the university's activities programs can be best met through a balanced film program. In order to maintain that balance, no more than one X-rated film shall be shown each semester. The Student Activities Council, (SAC) only, shall be permitted to show X-rated films, since that organization is charged with the responsibility of presenting a balanced program and will not exploit the screenings to raise money.

No student under 18 may be admitted to the screening of an X-rated film.

X-rated and similar films shall not be shown in open areas, but only in enclosed rooms, so that those who do not wish to see the films will not be exposed to them.
