Family Orientation

Family Orientation: January 11, 2018

As a parent or guardian, you will continue to play an important role in your student’s personal development and academic success. Family Orientation is a great way to take part in and support your student’s transition. Our program will highlight transitional issues that your students may experience, as well provide detailed information regarding financial aid, math course placements, tutoring services, counseling and psychological services, work study and internships, university health insurance, public safety, campus life, and more. Family orientation is optional but strongly encouraged.

Family Orientation Dates

Family Orientation runs concurrently to New Student Orientation and runs on a separate track from NSO most of the day. Note that students are invited to attend NSO based on their college major, and they will only receive an invitation to register upon completion of their placement test. While it is expected that you will attend on the day that your student attends NSO, you are welcome to attend on a separate day as well.
