Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
New Jersey Institute of Technology invites applications and nominations for the position of Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Responsibilities:
As the University’s chief academic officer, the Provost provides vision and leadership for all academic programs.  The Provost reports to the President and acts as chief executive officer in the President’s absence.  The Provost’s responsibilities include academic planning, educational policy, program assessment, and budget oversight.  Reporting directly to the Provost are the Deans of the Newark College of Engineering, the College of Architecture and Design, the College of Science and Liberal Arts, the School of Management, the College of Computing Sciences, the Albert Dorman Honors College, the Dean of Graduate Studies, the University Librarian, and the Chief Information Officer.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess an earned doctorate or equivalent, a record of teaching, research, and scholarship that merits appointment as a senior faculty member; a history of successful administrative leadership at the level of dean, vice president, or an equivalent level of responsibility; evidence of excellent financial and human resource management skills; demonstrated skill in team building with the ability to recruit and hire key personnel; evidence of commitment to teaching, research, community service, and economic development; ability to maintain collegial relationships; and a commitment to diversity.


The University:
Founded in 1881, NJIT is a public, urban, research university with Fall 2009 enrolment expected to reach 9,000 students.  It awarded approximately 2,000 degrees in May 2009 from the baccalaureate through the Ph.D. in an array of engineering and technology disciplines, computer and information science, architecture and urban systems, management and business administration, transportation, science and applied science, mathematical science, social and policy science, communications, and history.
