George H. Abdou, PhD, is a professor in the department of industrial and manufacturing engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology. His research interests include: automated manufacturing systems including: robotics palletization, expert system applications, CAPP, ACO for machining process, and DC brushless linear motor applications. Recent publications include: Abdou, G., Tereshkovich, W. "Optimal Operating Parameters in High Speed Milling Operations for Aluminum". International Journal of Production Research. 39, No.10, 2197-2214, 2001; and Abdou, G., Tereshkovich, W. "Experimental Comparison to Dynamic FEA Results of a Permanent Magnet Brushless DC Linear Motor". International Journal of Computer Integrated Manufacturing. 13, No.3, 214-224, 2000. Abdou received his PhD and MSc degrees in industrial engineering from the Iowa State University and a BS in mechanical engineering from Helwan University in Cairo, Egypt. |
