Richard Garber AIA, is an assistant professor in the New Jersey School of Architecture at New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he directs the NJIT FABLAB, a laboratory containing computer numerically controlled (CNC) hardware used for digital fabrication. Garber is a registered architect in New York and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). Prior to forming GRO, a multi-disciplinary design firm that operates within--while extending--the traditional architectural design process in 1998, Garber worked as a project manager with Tony Chi & Associates in New York, Greg Lynn FORM in Los Angeles, and SHoP/Sharples Holden Pasquarelli in New York. In addition to his design experience, he has taught in the Department of Architecture at the University of California, Los Angeles and the Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation at Columbia University. Garber holds architecture degrees from Columbia University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. |
