Burt J. Kimmelman, PhD


Burt J. Kimmelman, PhD

Burt Kimmelman, PhD, is a professor in the department of humanities and director of the BA/BS degree program in communication at New Jersey Institute of Technology. His research interests include: modern and postmodern literature, especially poetry; interdisciplinary medieval studies; technology and culture, especially aesthetics; textual scholarship; communications technology and epistemology.

Kimmelman recently edited The Facts on File Companion to 20th-Century American Poetry (Facts on File, Inc., 2005), for which he has written the introduction as well as appendices including a general bibliography and a glossary of poetic terms.

He received his PhD in English Literature from the City University of New York; a certificate in interdisciplinary medieval studies from the City University of New York; an MA in English Literature from Hunter College, City University of New York; and a BA in English Literature from the State University of New York.
