NJIT Hosts School Funding Reform Panel

October 17, 2006

North Jersey residents were given an opportunity to provide input on achieving property tax reform through changes to the state’s public school funding laws at a special joint legislative committee hearing today in the Campus Center Atrium at NJIT. Residents  directly addressed the Joint Legislative Committee on Public School Funding Reform, one of four panels the Legislature created for its special session on property tax reform. The panel has until Nov. 15 to craft reforms to the public school aid program that could maximize taxpayer relief by providing assistance based on student needs rather than geographic location, among other changes.
