Anthony W. Schuman	Anthony W. Schuman is an associate professor and graduate program director at the New Jersey School of Architecture at New Jersey Institute of Technology. A registered architect, he is past president of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA), which represents the 125 accredited schools of architecture in the U.S. and Canada. Schuman is past chair of the New York Chapter of Architects/Designers/ Planners for Social Responsibility (ADPSR). He serves on the Montclair Housing Commission and is a trustee of the Newark Preservation and Landmarks Committee and the Lincoln Park/Coast Cultural District, Inc. He received the Foundation Overseers Public and Institute Service Award in 2006. His articles on housing design and community development appear in 12 books and numerous scholarly journals and conference proceedings. His most recent article “Ghetto: A Word and its US/age,” was published in French by UNESCO in Paris in 2006. Schuman was a founding member of a series of advocacy and activist organizations in the architecture and planning professions, including Urban Deadline, The Architects' Resistance (TAR), Homefront, and the Planners Network. Schuman holds a BA from Wesleyan University and an MA from Columbia University, both in French, and an MA in architecture from Columbia University.
