Community Policing Staff |
The Department of Public Safety is dedicated to ensuring a safe working and learning environment for the university community. Initiatives involved forming a staff of Community Police Officers, pictured above, assigned to specific areas including all Residence Halls and Greek Organizations. The officers act as liaisons to the Department of Public Safety by offering assistance, providing guidance and fostering a climate of esprit de corps through open lines of communication and pro-active resolutions. Together, we can maintain a safe campus for all.

Officer Meghan McCarthyRepresentative for Oak Hall "I represent Oak Hall. I am available for any questions and/or concerns throughout the semester so do not hesitate to call or email. A quick safety tip is to stay off your cellphones and iPods when walking to and from your destinations. Lessen your chances of becoming a target! Also, walk with a buddy if available. Have a safe and happy school year!" |

Officer Ray AielloRepresentative for Greek Organizations with Houses "As we all know, a crime equals a criminal's motive plus his or her opportunity. Don't be victim to their opportunity by maintaining power in numbers, and keeping your valuables in a secure place. Always be aware of your surroundings and always expect the unexpected. Newark is a big city, don't mistake kindness for weakness." |
