Dr. Atam DhawanNJIT as a leading public technology research university is committed to advancing the highest quality basic and applied research and scholarship fostering creativity, interdisciplinary collaboration, community engagement and commitment to the highest level to professional ethics. We thrive to provide an exceptional academic and research and innovation experience to students at baccalaureate through doctoral levels.

NJIT research enterprise with outstanding faculty, researchers and external collaborators including experts from industry, government and corporate sectors focuses on addressing current and future challenges of research, discovery and technology development towards making an economic impact in the local and global society.

The office of Research is strategically committed to NJIT 2020 Vision on continuously enhancing multidisciplinary research and innovation environment and strengthening the overall research enterprise sponsored by government, industry and other agencies in full compliance with all policies and protocols of responsible conduct of research. The Office of Research also supports and pursues internal and external operations towards protection of results and transfer of inventions and technologies towards entrepreneurship and commercialization through New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII), Enterprise Development Center (EDC) and other corporate organizations.

NJIT is continuously growing its research enterprise exceeding $126 million of research expenditure in FY 2016 with core and interdisciplinary research support from major government, industry and non-government agencies.
