NJIT - Sigma Xi Research Café
The NJIT Chapter of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society, welcomes you to another semester of the Sigma Xi Research Café, which was inaugurated during the last academic year with six successful meetings. The idea of the café is to showcase the great things being done at NJIT and surrounding colleges in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. The topics may not be purely technical but are geared to communicate ideas to a broad spectrum of listeners. Last academic year we focused on topics involving biomedical engineering, the health care system, management and humanities. The meetings are open not only to faculty and students but also to interested people in nearby industry, medical centers and laboratories. For information and schedule, click here.
Research Café meetings were not held during the 2010-2011 academic year but hopefully the program will resume in the future..

Call for Nomination of New Members and Associate Members
Initiation of new members is conducted annually, usually at the end of the spring term. Nominations are invited for election of new associate members and full members, as well as for promotion from associate to full membership.
Associate membership is granted to individuals engaged in research, demonstrating potential for future research activity. Generally, associate membership is granted to promising graduate students completing their thesis work. Associate membership can also be granted to outstanding undergraduate students involved in research projects. Full membership is granted to researchers with established publication records. For more information about Sigma Xi membership qualifications, click here.
Candidates for full or associate membership must be nominated. For information about who can nominate and the procedures of obtaining and submitting nomination forms, click here. The completed nomination forms should be submitted, preferably in electronic form, to Dr. A.U. Meyer at meyer@njit.edu, whom you may also contact for any question. They will then be reviewed for election by the Chapter Board.
