Volunteer your time and expertise to help residents, businesses, nonprofit organizations and local officials rebuild following Hurricane Sandy.

Working with local organizations, NJIT will provide the “brains and brawn” to clean-up devastated areas and rebuild in a resilient manner. Projects may last from one day to over a week. Wherever possible, NJIT student and/or faculty designs will be incorporated into projects. Tasks could include clean-ups, construction/destruction, painting/finishing, and survey research opportunities. In this manner, community service and experiential learning will improve our communities and increase professional capacity to ensure that we are New Jersey Strong.

You can choose to work in a community along the Jersey Shore, in Newark or other cities, or in suburban towns in Bergen County where flooding from Sandy devastated communities. You can work one day, multiple days or the entire week of March 16-24, 2013, which is NJIT’s Spring Break. NJIT will register faculty, staff, students and alumni to lead this effort.  Students and faculty from other colleges and universities will join you in this effort.
