Students who have completed required examinations for an advance course in English and/or Mathematics during their junior year of high school with the College Board's Advanced Placement (AP), the International Baccalaureate Program (IB), and/or a college/university affiliated course may qualify to be exempted from taking placement tests. Please see the credit policy for AP and IB at the links posted below.  Students' score report/cerificate should be sent to NJIT's Admissions Office as well as an official transcript from the college/university immediately. Students must have received a grade of C or better in the college/university affiliated courses to be eligible for credit evaluation and exemption.

*Exemption from English is also possible if a student meets the requirements set by the Humanities Department based on their college entrance exams (SAT/ACT scores). For more details on English placement testing requirements click here.  If you meet the exemption criteria, you must send notification to placementtesting@njit.edu for verification.

Transfer students who were awarded credit at their previous college/university based on their AP and/or IB scores should have an official score report/ceritficate sent to NJIT's Admissions and/or Registrar's Office as soon as possible.
