New Jersey Institute of Technology Students Receive $15,000 in Scholarships

NEWARK, Nov. 21-- Six students at New Jersey Institute of Technology recently received scholarships worth $2500 each from the Construction Roundtable of New Jersey (CRT). " This is the second year in a rows that the organization's scholarships have gone to NJIT students," says Gregory Mass, executive direction of career development services at NJIT.

"The scholarship fund benefits community college students entering as juniors at a four-year college or university in New Jersey," he adds. "Scholarships funds support the CRT's commitment to attract talented and qualified individuals to the construction industry. The scholarships go a long way in assisting students with their college expenses."

NJIT students who received the awards included the following individuals. Douglas Bonuke, of Jersey City, now enrolled in the school of architecture at NJIT, received a $2500 scholarship from the National Electrical Contractors Association of Northern New Jersey, Mountainside.

Adam Caravaglia, of Morristown, now enrolled in the college of engineering at NJIT and majoring in mechanical engineering technology received a $2500 scholarship from Eii, Inc., Electrical Contractors & Engineers, Cranford.

John Centrella, of Wharton, also enrolled in the college of engineering at NJIT and majoring in mechanical engineering technology, received a $2500 scholarship from by SM Electric Company, Inc., Rahway.

Corey Groves, of Rockaway, also majoring in mechanical engineering, received a $2500 scholarship from the Mechanical Contractors Association of NJ, Springfield.

Yessica Pena, of Garfield, enrolled in the college of engineering at NJIT majoring in civil engineering received a $2500 scholarship from the Construction Industry Advancement Program, Edison.

Joyce Scatuccio, of Howell, enrolled in the School of Architecture at NJIT, received a $2500 scholarship from the Building Contractors Association of NJ, Edison.

The Construction Roundtable of New Jersey, formerly the North Jersey Construction Users Council, is a network to inform, educate, and promote the owners' appreciation and understanding of the forces within the construction industry that affect costs. The New Jersey council is affiliated with the construction committee of the Business Roundtable. There are approximately 40 active, independent local councils throughout the United States.
